Four recruits committed elsewhere that Penn State Football may try to flip
LB Kaveion Keys
Penn State has dominated the state of Virginia this cycle and the Nittany Lions are hoping they’re not done there.
Kaveion Keys committed to North Carolina back in August over Penn State and others. North Carolina continues to recruit well with defensive recruits despite poor showings on the field.
The Tar Heels rank 113th in the country in scoring defense (heading into Week Six), allowing 33.6 points per game. North Carolina is also giving up 451 total yards of offense per game. These numbers don’t exactly scream elite.
Penn State’s defense has performed well this season. The unit ranks 18th in scoring at 14.8 points per game. They also lead the nation in quarterback pressures and are amongst the leaders in turnovers forced.
The Nittany Lions can also point to the play of true freshman linebacker Abdul Carter. Carter has played a lot of meaningful football for the Nittany Lions this season. The staff can show Keys an actual example of a young player playing early at his position.
With Jonathan Sutherland out of eligibility and Curtis Jacobs possibly heading to the NFL, two starting spots will be open at the linebacker position for Penn State next season.
