TE Nick Elksnis

The other decommit in Penn State’s 2021 class was 3-star tight end Nick Elksnis.

Like Thorton, Elksnis was an early member of Penn State’s 2021 class, committing at the end of July in 2019. Being from Florida, not many expected Elksnis’ commitment to last, but it did last until March of 2020, which may have been longer than some expected.

In the end, Elksnis ended up with Florida, which seems to be a common theme with Penn State decommits.

Elksnis did not see action for Florida as a true freshman last year and is yet to record any stats this season. Obviously, he’s only halfway through his second season, so there’s plenty of time for him to become an impact player.

With how deep Penn State’s tight end room is, the Nittany Lions seem fine without Elksnis. This could change in a year or two, but Penn State made out all right.
