Penn State football has won a ton of recruiting battles over the years, but not all those victories last.

Decommits are a part of recruiting for every college football program, including Penn State football.

The Nittany Lions have had plenty of success on the recruiting trail since James Franklin arrived in Happy Valley. That success has reached its high point recently with Penn State football having the No. 6 recruiting class in 2022 and the No. 12 class in 2023.

Unfortunately, not all that success is sustainable, as some commits opt to reopen their commitments and not sign with Penn State. Some come back to bite the Nittany Lions, others are never heard from again.

You may remember that back in March of 2021, Victory Bell Rings did a story on what happened to notable Penn State decommits. On the last slide, it was noted that it was too early to judge some of the decommits.

Now, a year and a half later, we have more information on some of the recent decommits and what they’re up to now.

Here’s a look at what happened to some recent Penn State football decommits.
