Penn State football is currently 5-0, but the Nittany Lions still have their fair share of flaws to work out.

Penn State football received a blow on Saturday when starting wide receiver Keandre Lambert-Smith left the game with a lower body injury.

After Penn State’s 17-7 win over Northwestern, Lambert-Smith was seen in a walking boot. While sometimes walking boots can be used as a precaution, it was noted that the third-year wide receiver was absent from Tuesday’s practice.

While the Nittany Lions are off this upcoming weekend and may be being careful with Lambert-Smith, there is the possibility he misses game action in the coming weeks. After the bye, Penn State plays Michigan, Minnesota and Ohio State in a row, this is not an ideal time to lose one of your most dynamic playmakers.

In the case that Lambert-Smith, who has caught nine passes for 104 yards and a touchdown this year, is unavailable, someone will have to step up to help a Penn State’s receiver group that hasn’t really found its stride yet.

Here are three candidates to help fill the void left by Lambert-Smith.
