Bold prediction #3 – Drew Allar throws for 150 yards and two touchdowns

Week two against Ohio was our first true look at Drew Allar under center for the Nittany Lions, and he did not disappoint as he completed six of eight passes that afternoon for 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

We expected to see much more of him again last week, but a second quarter rally by Central Michigan kept Sean Clifford and the starters in the game longer than anticipated.

This week, Drew Allar could get more snaps than he has in any single game so far.

As a result, there’s a good chance the true freshman has his first career 100-yard passing game.

I’ll take it a step further, though, and predict that he throws for at least 150 yards and two touchdowns. I thought about pushing it to 200 yards, but with the impending weather, I’m not sure just how much Mike Yurcich will look to push the ball downfield.

There is also a fair chance that Drew Allar does not finish the game if things go according to plan, and Christian Veilleux comes in for a few reps, just as he did against Ohio and Auburn.

The main thing that makes this bold is the uncertainty of just how much Allar will play in this one. If he gets enough snaps, I’m confident he can throw for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
