 RB Nick Singleton

Is this an easy pick? Yeah probably.

Freshman running back Nick Singleton had huge games against Ohio and Auburn before having a quieter day last week against Central Michigan.

There’s plenty of reasons to believe that Singleton will not repeat his 12-carry, 42-yard performance from last week.

The first reason is that Northwestern has struggled against the run so far. The Wildcats are giving up 160 rushing yards per game and they have not faced a running back in the same universe talent wise as Singleton.

Additionally, they have not faced an offensive line at big and talented as Penn State’s. Miami (OH) ran for 216 yards last week and the talent of Miami on offense is not anywhere near that of Penn State’s.

In addition to the fact that Northwestern may not be able to stop him, Penn State may rely heavily on Singleton in this game. There’s a chance of rain on Saturday, so the Nittany Lions may decide to pound the rock more than usual on Saturday.

The more carries Singleton gets, the more chances he’ll have to break a few big runs.
