3. Lots of good exposure

Penn State’s matchup with Auburn was broadcasted nationally on CBS and was the most compelling game in the 3:30 p.m. time slot.

That led to lots of people tuning into this one. Audrey Snyder of The Athletic notes that it was the most-watched game of the week, with an average of over four million viewers.

That large viewership watched Penn State put on a show in Auburn’s house. Not only did recruits see this happen, but Penn State will use these TV stats when recruiting players. The staff will show recruits that if they come to Penn State they will be on TV and play in big games.

Moreover, there was plenty of reaction on social media to Penn State’s big win. Recruits, former players and media members all shared their impressions on the game. With some of these people, like Saquon Barkley, having large followings, there was plenty of good press to be had for Penn State over the weekend.

Just constantly seeing the name ‘Penn State’ as a recruit scrolls through Twitter will have them thinking about the Nittany Lions. This game was a massive win-win for Penn State football.
