Current and former Nittany Lions continue to impress, as Penn State Football lettermen once again had a good weekend in the NFL.

Let’s take a look at some performances that stuck out.

Saquon Barkley – running back – New York Giants

Compared to his week one performance that won him NFC Offensive Player of the Week, this game was a bit of a letdown for Saquon Barkley as he carried the ball 21 times for just 72 yards, but most of his yards came in the second half as he was a key part in the Giants sealing the win over former Penn State Football linebacker Matt Rhule and the Carolina Panthers.

Most notably, Barkley remains the NFL’s leading rusher through two weeks with 236 yards.

Jahan Dotson – wide receiver – Washington Commanders

Jahan Dotson was able to build upon his week one Rookie of the Week selection with another solid showing in week two.

He caught four passes for 59 yards and another touchdown in the Commanders’ loss to the Lions, and one of his catches was an impressive grab in traffic that went for a 40-yard gain.

So far through two weeks, Dotson has three touchdown catches which is tied for second in the league in that category with numerous others that include Cooper Kupp and Davante Adams. Pretty impressive company for the rookie so far.

Mike Gesiski – tight end – Miami Dolphins

After a quiet week one in which he had just one catch for one yard, former All-Big Ten tight end Mike Gesicki got back to looking like himself.

He caught four passes for 41 yards and a touchdown to help the Dolphins win a shootout over the Ravens by a score of 42-38. Gesicki and the Dolphins are off to an impressive 2-0 start.

Allen Robinson – wide receiver – Los Angeles Rams

Similar to Gesicki, Allen Robinson was quiet in week one as he was only target twice in that matchup, but he began to settle in with his new team in week two.

One of the best wideouts in Penn State Football history had four receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown in week two for the defending Super Bowl Champion Rams in their win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Kevin Givens – defensive tackle – San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers got a much-needed win to get back on track in week two, and Kevin Givens played a big part as he helped the defense hold the Seattle Seahawk to just seven points on the day.

The former Nittany Lion registered four tackles on the day, including an eye-popping three tackles for loss.

Micah Parsons – linebacker/edge – Dallas Cowboys

Last year’s Defensive Rookie of the Year continues to be dominant as he picked up two more sacks in the Cowboys’ week two win over the Bengals.

Micah Parsons had four total tackles on the game, and through two weeks leads the NFL with four sacks.

Jaquan Brisker – safety – Chicago Bears

After a great start to his career in week one, Jaquan Brisker continues to impress with the Bears as they fell to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football.

The former Nittany Lion recorded 10 tackles in week two, seven of which were solo tackles.
