Wide receivers/ tight ends

Penn State features a talented wide receiver trio in Mitchell Tinsley, Keandre Lambert-Smith and Parker Washington

Tinsley leads the way with ten catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns. Lambert-Smith and Washington have combined for 12 catches for 174 yards and a score. The Nittany Lions rotated a ton of wide receivers against Ohio, so these three didn’t get much run.

Jahan Dotson ran the show last year in the Auburn game last year. This year, these three and the supporting cast will use strength in numbers to make up for his production.

Tight end is also a strength for the Nittany Lions in terms of numbers. Starter Brenton Strange has looked good this year, catching three passes for 89 yards and a touchdown. His main backup, Theo Johnson, has yet to play this year due to an injury, but is expected back soon. The third tight end, Tyler Warren, has four catches on the year as well.

Auburn’s weapons have not looked as deep so far. Ja’Varrius Johnson leads the way with seven catches for 158 yards. Shedrick Jackson is second on the team with five catches for 64 yards. No other receiver has more than two catches.

At tight end, John Samuel Shenker is the go-to target. He has five receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown so far this year.

Auburn’s lack of a competent quarterback hurts its weapon’s production to an extent.
