Running back

Penn State’s running backs struggled against Purdue but had a resurgence against Ohio.

Freshman Nick Singleton went off, rushing the ball ten times for 179 yards and two touchdowns. It was the best performance by a Penn State running back in years.

While Singleton flashed, fellow freshman Kaytron Allen and veteran Keyvone Lee also have key roles with the offense. This is an improved group from last year, but still a work in progress.

Auburn has one of the better running back duos in the country in Tank Bigsby and Jarquez Hunter.

Bigsby has 198 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the season, while Hunter has four touchdowns. Bigsby is a powerful bruiser while Hunter is more of the speed back.

If Auburn is going to win this game, these two are going to have to have big days. This duo kept Auburn in the game last year, and they’ll try to win it this time around.

Penn State’s unit has a ton of talent, but Auburn’s is more proven at this point.
