Penn State Football Recruiting: The top five remaining 2023 targets
DE Joseph Mupoyi
For every decommit Penn State suffered in the 2023 class, they’ve been able to recover and find a replacement, except one.
The one is defensive end Tomarrion Parker. The top 100 player from Alabama opened his recruitment back up in early August after committing to Penn State in June.
There are not a lot of defensive end targets left out there for the Nittany Lions, but 3-star Joseph Mupoyi is one of them.
Mupoyi has great length for a defensive end at 6-foot-5, but he is a bit skinny, being listed at 210 pounds. He is likely a project and won’t be playing in game one of his freshman year like Dani Dennis-Sutton did on Thursday.
Regardless, Penn State needs another defensive end in this class to go with Jameial Lyons. The Nittany Lions also no longer have 2022 4-star signee Ken Talley, so it’s even more important that the ranks get replenished for the future.
Mupoyi only have seven offers, but it’s an impressive list that includes Penn State, Michigan, Auburn, Ole Miss, Miami, Maryland and Rutgers.
With Mupoyi attending school in Connecticut, this is a recruitment Penn State can win and should win if they push.
