The battle at guard

There has been an uber-important competition between three players for two starting spots this offseason. Landon Tengwall, Sal Wormley, and Hunter Nourzad have been competing for months to win the starting jobs at guard and hopefully help this unit turn it around.

We don’t have a definite two starters, but we know that the Cornell transfer in Nourzad will get plenty of early opportunities.

Perhaps this adds more confusion than clarity, but at least we have an idea of what to expect.

Does this mean that Wormley and Tengwall will start, but Nourzad will still get a shot? That seems like the most likely scenario.

It’s great to have some options at multiple spots along the offensive line, which is a sign that the depth could be improved.

Regardless of how the two guard positions play out, hopefully the performance by whoever is out there is better than 2021.
