Penn State Football has several questions heading into the season opener. Let’s look at some bold predictions for the opener against Purdue.

Penn State head coach James Franklin has tweeted out his ceremonial 1-0 message, which can only mean one thing. Penn State Football is BACK.

We are just days away from Penn State Football, traveling to West Lafayette and facing a blackout environment. Penn State will not have the luxury of a non-conference schedule that features teams like Colorado State, Hawai’i, and UConn. Looking at you, Wolverines.

Penn State will enter this season with two new coordinators. Manny Diaz takes over on the defensive side of the ball, while Stacy Collins will lead the special teams. Both coordinators take over units that have seen plenty of turnover this offseason.

The defense will feature six new starters and a brand-new scheme. Thursday night against Purdue will be the first time Penn State fans will have to adjust to a new-looking defense since 2016. If my memory serves right, that year was quite successful.

Let’s take a look at three bold predictions for this Penn State defense against Purdue.
