Bold prediction #4 – Penn State Football finishes top 10 in the country in takeaways

Penn State was a far better team last year in terms of takeaways than they were in the sack department, but I still believe they can drastically improve in this regard as well.

The Nittany Lions were tied for 30th nationally last season with a total of 21 takeaways: 14 interceptions and seven fumble recoveries.

Middle Tennessee led the nation with 32, and Iowa led Power Five schools with 30.

Like with the previous prediction, Manny Diaz’s deceptive and aggressive defensive approach combined with the speed and athleticism that this defense will have (especially in the secondary), can allow for the Nittany Lions to force a ton of turnovers in 2022.

For that reason, I am predicting this team to be among the top 10 in the country in takeaways in 2022.
