Penn State Basketball: New Uniforms Revealed

After months of teasing, the new Penn State Basketball uniforms have finally been revealed!

With new season ticket locations under the Shrewsberry regime, why not take a run at remaking the jerseys too.  The rather basic looking jersey is being advertised as ‘lightweight and breathable engineered sphere fabric (with) wider back and shoulders and the shorts as ‘slim and tailored fit through leg, shorter length shorts with crossover vents’…which I think is just ‘marketing talk’ for breathable uniforms.  Were the old ones not breathable?

One really neat feature is the keystone belt design with PSU written across the keystone, to show ‘keystone strength’.  Given the diagram below, it’s not clear where the keystone will be seen.  Another feature is the solid stripe down the shorts, defined as ‘uniquely Penn State.’

Perhaps these jerseys are a signficant upgrade for the players given the listed features on both the jersey and the shorts.  From a general fan perspective, however, the number portion of the jersey appears to be just a more generic looking number.

The phrase ‘respect the past, repesent the future’ is how the team is describing these new jerseys.
