Penn State Football: Predicting the outcome of each game this season
Week 5: Vs Northwestern
Penn State will stay home for week 5 on Oct. 1 and start the Big Ten schedule against Northwestern.
The Wildcats struggled in 2021 to say the least. They finished the year 3-9 and just 1-8 in conference play.
Northwestern had arguably the worst offense in college football last year, averaging just 16.6 points per game. The one bright spot on the offense is running back Evan Hull, who ran for 1,009 yards and seven touchdowns last year.
The passing attack was almost nonexistent last year and facing Penn State’s star-studded secondary won’t help them either.
The defense wasn’t great either, giving up an average of 29 points per game. This unit might also take a step back with leading tackler Chris Bergin gone and the defense’s best player Brandon Joseph transferring to Notre Dame.
Penn State’s defense could be in for a big day in this one.
Prediction: PSU 35 NW 7
