Week 2: Vs Ohio

Penn State will have its home opener on Sept. 10 against Ohio.

The Bobcats are not nearly the challenge that Purdue will be. They went 3-9 last season, including going 3-5 in the MAC.

Quarterback Kurtis Rourke is not a bad player; he completed 65.5% of his passes last year for 1,801 yards and 11 touchdowns compared to seven interceptions. The Bobcats will be without their best playmaker from last year with running back De’Montre Tuggle moving on after rushing for 804 yards and adding another 156 as a receiver.

On defense, Ohio is one of the worst teams in the country. Ohio allowed 30.3 points per game last year, which ranked 96th in the country. They do return two solid linebackers in Bryce Houston and Cannon Blauser, but the rest of the unit is a work in progress.

Look for the Nittany Lions to get as many youngsters involved in this game as possible. This could be the coming out party for young running backs Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen.

Prediction: PSU 52 Ohio 7
