Penn State football freshman running back Nick Singleton could be a difference maker right away for the Nittany Lions.

Rated as the No.1 running back in the country in the 2022 recruiting class, Nick Singleton enters college with high expectations.

The Pennsylvania product continues a successful run of in-state running backs at Penn State. Singleton will be compared to the likes of Saquon Barkley, Miles Sanders and Journey Brown throughout his career because of their Pennsylvania connections.

While being compared to talents like those three may be unfair, Singleton has the ability and talent to put his name in that conversation. He may not need to wait long either to do so, as he will have plenty of opportunities this season.

Many expect the true freshman to start the season as Penn State’s No. 2 running back, with the ability to take the top spot down the road. Here’s a few reasons why Singleton may live up to the hype right away.
