Do Nothing (at least right now)

Could Penn State’s staff do nothing about the situation?

Ideally, no.

But… there are other routes to take outside of adding more players to the 2023 class.

For starters, Penn State still has a very talented defensive end committed in 4-star Jameial Lyons. It’s not like they have absolutely nothing at the position.

In addition to Lyons, there’s Mathias Barnwell, who could end up at offensive tackle, tight end, defensive end or defensive tackle. Maybe the 6-foot-6, 250-pounder ends up playing defensive end in college.

There’s also the scenario already discussed with Ta’Mere Robinson, where he could possibly grow into a defensive end in college.

Finally, there’s the transfer portal. The Nittany Lions picked up one of the best defensive ends available this past off-season in Chop Robinson, they could try to do it again after the 2022 season.
