Offensive tackle

Offensive tackle recruiting took a big hit last week when both Evan Link and Stanton Ramil committed to other programs on the same day.

Those two were Penn State’s top offensive tackle targets and losing both is devastating.

The Nittany Lions must now regroup and find new options at offensive tackle.

Penn State does have one tackle currently committed in 3-star Anthony Donkoh. Donkoh has the skillset to be an impact player down the road, but he also looks like a project who will need a couple years of development first.

There are a few options for offensive line coach Phil Trautwein to go after, but more will emerge as the season gets underway.

Penn State has struggled with offensive tackle recruiting the past few years for some reason. It has been one of the weakest links in the past few classes.

That needs to change if Penn State wants to break into the College Football Playoff.
