Quarterback

Penn State was left shocked back in July when quarterback commit Marcus Stokes flipped to Florida.

The remaining options weren’t great for quarterbacks coach/offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich, as the other quarterbacks he offered were already committed elsewhere.

If Penn State wants a quarterback in this class, which they definitely do, they’ll need to flip one committed to another school.

The No. 1 name to watch is Tulane commit Jaxon Smolik, who we’ve talked about a lot lately. It looks like Yurcich will push for Smolik before evaluating more options.

Finding a quarterback this late in a cycle is never easy, but Yurcich and the Nittany Lions will need to do it.
