Fall camp is underway for Penn State football, marking the end of the offseason for James Franklin and his staff.

Winning the offseason can lead to wins of the field.

If a team can get a few draft-eligible players to return, land a couple key transfers and replace position coaches who take new jobs, the team usually has a solid season.

James Franklin and Penn State football absolutely crushed it last offseason, getting high grades in all these areas. It looked like it was all working too, until quarterback Sean Clifford suffered an injury in the game against Iowa.

That’s all in the rearview mirror now and it’s time to focus on the 2022 season. We’re going to take a look at how Franklin performed this offseason in four key areas.
