1. Offensive line improvement

It feels like this is one of the biggest questions surrounding the team every season.

Penn State historically has had a rough go of things on the offensive line since James Franklin arrived in 2014.

Early in his tenure it was easy to blame that on the sanctions and lack of scholarships, but that excuse is out the window eight years later.

The offensive line struggled in 2021, especially on the interior. The Nittany Lions did not have a single running back rush for 100 yards in a game last season and quarterback Sean Clifford took a beating in the second half of the year.

If Penn State wants to be better than 7-6 in 2022, the offensive line has to improve.

Bringing in transfer Hunter Nourzad to play guard should help, as should increased roles for youngsters like Olu Fashanu and Landon Tengwall.

As camp moves along, look for reports on the offensive line. This unit’s improvement could make or break the 2022 season.
