Carmelo Taylor

Carmelo Taylor is probably the first name many would say when asked who could replace Haynes.

The speedy 4-star from Virginia took an official visit to Penn State back in June and it seemed to go well. Listed at 6-foot and 170 pounds, Taylor will need sometime in a strength program, but the speed will definitely play in college.

Other finalists for Taylor include Virginia Tech, Maryland and South Carolina. He is expected to make his decision before the end of the summer.

Penn State has done well in Virginia this cycle, landing four of the top 13 players in the state so far. Taylor would be a welcomed addition as the fifth Virginian in Penn State’s class.

If he wasn’t being recruited hard by the Nittany Lions before, Taylor certainly is now.
