As expected, Parker Washington and Mitchell Tinsley have been added to the preseason watchlist for the Biletnikoff Award.

The Biletnikoff Award is given out annually to the most outstanding wide receiver in college football, and with this duo for Penn State Football being two of the best wideouts in the country, it makes sense.

In fact, the first ever recipient of the award in the first year of its existence was none other than Bobby Engram.

Washington and Tinsley join Sean CliffordKeyvone Lee, and Chris Stoll as Nittany Lions that have already been added to preseason watchlists, with more certainly to come.

Each of these outstanding pass catchers could make a run at 100 receptions and 1,000 yards in 2022, which would certainly put them in a good position to win the award.

Last season, Washington hauled in 64 catches for 820 yards and four touchdowns as Penn State’s No. 2 wideout. As a No. 2 option himself, Tinsley caught 87 passes for 1,402 yards and 14 scores for the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers; and was also an all-conference selection in Conference-USA.

He was certainly a big addition for Penn State Football via the transfer portal and he will have a huge impact on this offense.

The duo figure to lead this wide receiver unit that will be a strength of the team and projects as one of the best in the Big Ten.

Both Washington and Tinsley have legitimate chances to be finalists for the Biletnikoff, just one year after Jahan Dotson was somewhat questionably not a finalist – though admittedly there was a ton of elite competition for him to go up against at that position.

Some favorites for the Biletnikoff this year are last season’s winner, Jordan Addison, as well as Ohio State’s Jaxson Smith-Njigba and North Carolina’s Josh Downs – but don’t count out the pair of Nittany Lions.
