Find a quarterback

Marcus Stokes shocked a lot of people when he flipped his commitment from Penn State to Florida a couple weeks back.

His flip left the Nittany Lions in a dire situation because many of the top quarterbacks around the country are already committed elsewhere. The options are slim, unless Penn State can get a flip of their own.

We put out a list of possible targets earlier this month, but this list will likely change almost weekly. New guys will emerge, and others will be crossed off the list.

Unlike the offensive line board, there aren’t two or three guys that stick out right now for offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich to target. Stokes was the only 2023 quarterback that Penn State hosted for a visit in months. There aren’t a lot of great relationships here.

Unlike the offensive tackle situation, this probably will not be resolved before the season starts. It’s more likely this drags on past the regular season, as Yurcich studies fresh tape and builds relationships.

This is one where fans need to stay patient and trust Yurcich.
