Penn State Football: What still needs to be done in the 2023 recruiting class
Prioritize Offensive Tackle
Penn State football has an awesome offensive haul line for the 2023 class, the problem is, two of the three look like interior guys.
Alex Birchmeier and Jven Williams are two of the highest ranked offensive linemen to ever commit to Penn State. Both of them look best suited for the guard position though.
Obviously, the interior is just as important as the tackle position, but the Nittany Lions could use another tackle or two to complement Anthony Donkoh.
There are two big options currently out there for offensive line coach Phil Trautwein to target. They are Evan Link and Stanton Ramil, both 4-star prospects.
Link, from Washington D.C., has been on Penn State’s radar for a while now and took an official visit back in June. His other top suitors are Michigan and Stanford.
Ramil also took an official back in June. He’s a relatively new target as he received his Penn State offer in May. Ramil plays his high school ball down in Alabama, a state Penn State all of a sudden recruits well in. Landing him may be a bit tougher, with the likes of Auburn, Michigan State, Tennessee and North Carolina after him.
The goal needs to be to land one of these guys. Both are high-level talents and could be starters for Penn State down the road. Landing both would be amazing, but the Nittany Lions need to make sure they don’t strike out here.
