Passing

This one doesn’t need much explanation. The starting quarterback – which in this instance will be Sean Clifford – is obviously going to lead a team in both passing yards and touchdowns.

Clifford will begin the season as the Nittany Lions’ starter, and while he could be on a relatively short leash with so much potential behind him, he likely would not lose his starting job at any point within the first month of the season with three of the first five games coming against Ohio, Central Michigan, and Northwestern.

For Clifford to not lead the team in passing yards and touchdowns, he would either have to lose his starting spot relatively quickly and his replacement be able to perform well to not give it back to him, or he would suffer an unfortunate injury that would cause him to miss a large portion of the season.
