Numerous 2023 recruits are scheduling commitments in July, and that could be good news for Penn State football.

Since our last update, even more Penn State football recruiting targets have set commitment dates during the month of July.

The Nittany Lions currently have 15 commits in their 2023 class, which ranks fifth in the national rankings. James Franklin is pursuing another top ten recruiting class, following a top ten finish in 2022. Penn State has never had back-to-back top ten recruiting classes under Franklin.

This month will be very telling about Penn State’s chances to reel in another top ten class. Last July was the main reason Penn State’s 2022 class finished as high as it did, thanks to the Nittany Lions landing 12 commits.

While they won’t reach that number this year, there’s still plenty of top targets who are ready to commit, and Penn State is in a good spot with many of them.
