5. Penn State’s 2023 class will finish top 10

Penn State will land another top 10 recruiting class.

The Nittany Lions currently rank fifth in the national for the 2023 cycle, but they’re far from finished.

As mentioned, multiple 4-star recruits are expected to make their decision by the end of the summer. Penn State could be in store for a lot of good news as the summer goes on.

Last cycle, the 2022 class ranked No. 6 in the nation with three 5-stars and 13 4-stars in the class. That gave them 16 blue chip recruits out of 25 commits. This class, with 16 commits, already has 11 blue chip recruits.

Although Penn State may not repeat with three 5-stars, they could surpass the blue-chip recruit number from last class. Doing so will likely put the Nittany Lions within the top 10 nationally when all is said and done.

In 2022, Clemson locked down the No. 10 spot in the national rankings with a 20-member class that included two 5-stars and eight 4-stars. The Nittany Lions already have more blue chip recruits than that Clemson class did.

James Franklin may have finally reached the goal of back-to-back top 10 recruiting classes.
