4. Penn State’s class will be at least 90% full by Sept.

As mentioned earlier, most of Penn State football’s remaining targets are expected to make their college choice by the end of the summer.

The days of recruits dragging out their recruitments through their senior season and to National Signing Day are for the most part behind us. Recruits seem to want to get the recruiting process out of the way and then focus on their own football season at the high school level.

Considering Penn State already has 16 commits and they could end up with over 20 by the end of July, space in the class could get slim quick. It’s unclear how many players Penn State plans to take this cycle, although more than 25 seems unlikely.

It would not be much of a shock to see Penn State’s 2023 class have 22-23 commits by the time the season starts in September. This helps the staff stay focused on the current team and doesn’t pull more of their time away to recruiting.

Recruiting dominoes are starting to fall sooner and sooner every cycle and it looks like that will also be the case this year.
