How Penn State Football can use recruiting to keep up with Ohio State
Defensive end
Want to neutralize that elite talent at wide receiver? Make sure they don’t get the ball.
Great defensive end play was a big reason why we saw Michigan take down Ohio State back in November. The Wolverines edge duo of Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo wreaked havoc on the Ohio State offensive line, causing four sacks and numerous quarterback hurries.
Luckily for Penn State, this is a position they’ve started to step up their recruiting effort at. The Nittany Lions added 2022 5-star Dani Dennis-Sutton along with 4-star Ken Talley. They then pulled former 5-star Demeioun Robinson out of the transfer portal.
Penn State has kept the success going, landing 4-star Jameial Lyons and top 80 recruit Tomarrion Parker at the defensive end position in the 2023 cycle.
In the past, one of the reasons the Nittany Lions failed to beat the Buckeyes was because they were unable to get constant pressure on the Ohio State quarterback.
Hopefully these recent additions can change that narrative for Penn State and help them defeat Ohio State.
