Tight Ends

The tight end group is the only position group for Penn State Football that lost none of their primary contributors; Brenton Strange, Theo Johnson, and Tyler Warren all return for Ty Howle’s unit.

So, just simply from the standpoint of more experience, further development, and overall improvement from all three of those players, the tight end group should be yet another group on this offense that will trend upward in the upcoming campaign.

The only thing that could potentially hinder this group is the old cliché, “when you have three of *insert position group here* you don’t have any”. If all three are getting near equal time, and no one has a chance to separate themselves and really become comfortable as the go-to tight end for this offense, it could prove to be counterproductive.

However, that’s not much different than the situation from a year ago, so assuming they each get at least a little better this offseason, the tight end unit as a whole should be better than in 2021.
