One of Penn State Football’s biggest 2023 recruiting targets is set to make his college decision in July.

Fresh off of an official visit to Penn State Football, Ta’Mere Robinson announced he will make his commitment on July 15.

The finalists for the 4-star linebacker/edge from Pittsburgh are the three schools he took an official visit to: Penn State, Miami and Virgnia Tech.

This is an interesting group as Penn State’s old defensive coordinator, Brent Pry, is now the head coach at Virginia Tech and Penn State’s new defensive coordinator, Manny Diaz, was the head coach at Miami.

Robinson has been one of the top targets on Penn State’s board since the beginning. It doesn’t really matter whether he’s a linebacker or defensive end, because the Nittany Lions need help at both positions. He’s also an in-state guy and we know the staff hates losing Pennsylvania kids.

Combine those two factors together and Robinson becomes a ‘must get’.

One interesting note is that a few of the Penn State commits Robinson was on campus with tweeted some cryptic messages on Sunday afternoon. A few minutes later, Robinson tweeted when he will make his decision.

Could be something, could be nothing.

One thing is for sure, from the looks of social media, Penn State crushed this official visit weekend.

The Nittany Lions currently have the No. 4 recruiting class in the 2023 cycle. With 13 members, the class is only about half full, especially when you factor in that the 25-scholarship limit per cycle has been lifted.

If Penn State wants this class to finish in the top 10 like its 2022 class did, they will need to land Robinson and other top targets. Last July was very kind to the Nittany Lions when it came to landing commits and it looks like this year could be following the same path.
