3. S DaKaari Nelson

DaKaari Nelson isn’t a well-known recruit up in the Northeast, but he’s an intriguing target.

Hailing from Selma, AL, the 4-star has decided to take the trip north and visit Penn State. He’s listed at 6-foot-3 and 203 pounds, which is fantastic size for a safety. At that size, we could see him make a move to linebacker in college.

His offer sheet is strong with Auburn, Clemson, Michigan, Tennessee and Texas A&M all showing interest in him.

Nelson is one to really keep an eye on this weekend. If the visit goes well, the Nittany Lions could put themselves in solid position to land him. Look at recruits like Cam Miller and Zane Durant, both took official visits to Penn State last June and not many had high expectations and yet both committed only a few weeks later.

As mentioned, Penn State isn’t in dire need of safeties in this class, so if the visit goes well for both Kane and Nelson, maybe there’s a race to the phone to call James Franklin.
