5. Facilities

This is an area Penn State is working to get better in.

Facilities are an underrated aspect when it comes to recruiting. Recruits look for a place that not only has above average football facilities, but also good living conditions.

Upgraded dorms can be a strong selling point on the recruiting trail as recruits, like anyone else, want the most comfortable and nicest rooms available. Penn State is in the middle of renovating some of the dorm halls on campus, which will be helpful in recruiting.

Indoor practice facilities, state of the art weight rooms, game rooms, nutrition bars and other amenities are what most big-time football facilities consist of these days. Penn State is working on an upgrade of their facilities that will cost almost $50 million.

Some of the renovations include a larger weight room and sports medicine upgrades.

Oregon has some of the best facilities in the country, and it’s why they have little trouble pulling recruits from the east coast. Living in the Pacific Northwest isn’t for everyone, but it’s a lot easier when living conditions are great and there’s plenty of extra perks available to you as a football player.

Of course, Penn State benefits from having a stadium with over 107,000 fans that makes for one of the best atmospheres in the country.
