Penn State Football has been considered Linebacker U for years, with multiple All-Americans and first-round draft picks.

Trying to come up with the best starting three out of the dozens of candidates seems nearly impossible, but we’re going to give it a try.

The unit we come up with is being built for the 2022 season, and we’re taking the player during their best season at Penn State. So, not only are we looking to create the best unit possible, but also one that will complement the rest of Penn State’s 2022 defense the best. We’re also going to take some liberty here and move guys around from the position they played at Penn State if necessary.

Keeping with the current setup of Penn State’s defense, we’re going to select two outside linebackers and one middle linebacker.
