The defending Big Ten champs did have to say goodbye to a couple key offensive pieces, but many return in 2022.

Let’s start with running back Blake Corum. Corum lost his partner in crime, Hassan Haskins to the NFL, making Corum the featured back this upcoming season. Last season, Corum rushed the ball 144 times for 952 yards (6.6 yards per carry) and 11 touchdowns. He also caught 24 passes for 141 yards.

Corum’s backup will be a former highly touted recruit in Donovan Edwards, who had 35 rushes for 174 yards and three touchdowns as a true freshman last season.

At wide receiver, Ronnie Bell returns from an injury that forced him to miss most of the 2021 season. Bell made just one catch in 2021, before his season ended. The one catch was a 76-yard touchdown though. In 2020, Bell had 26 catches for 401 yards and a touchdown in just six games.

Cornelius Johnson looks to retain his WR1 role in 2022. Last year, he caught 40 balls for 627 yards and three touchdowns. Roman Wilson rounds out the starters, he had 25 catches for 420 yards and three touchdowns in 2021.

Key reserves include Andrel Anthony, AJ Henning and Darrius Clemons. These three likely will be the Wolverines starting trio in 2023, a very talented bunch.

At tight end, Erick All returns. Who could forget his game-winning touchdown against Penn State (I wish I could)? All caught 38 passes for 437 yards and two touchdowns last year. His key backup, Luke Schoonmaker, also returns after catching 17 passes for 165 yards and three scores.

The one uncertainty with the Wolverines offense is who the quarterback will be, but whoever gets the starting job will have a ton of talent around them.
