Who Could be the Linebackers in Penn State Football’s 2023 Class?
King Mack or Cam Seldon
Both King Mack and Cam Seldon are being recruited to Penn State as a safety, but could one of these guys grow into a linebacker?
The same goes for Penn State commit, and Mack’s teammate, Conrad Hussey, who is also a safety, but we’re focusing on uncommitted targets here.
Mack, who has a Penn State official visit set for June 17, is the smaller of the two at 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds. He’s also the faster of the two, as he is also one of the best sprinters in the state of Florida. These two factors make him more likely to stay at safety if he ends up at Penn State.
Seldon is the bigger of the two, being listed at 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds. His frame gives him a better chance of moving to linebacker if needed. He’s one of the best players in the country, ranked as the No. 97 player in the country in the 247 Sports composite.
Seldon doesn’t have an official visit lined up to Penn State yet, but the hope is that he will use one on the Nittany Lions. The Virginia product would be the third highest ranked player in Penn State’s 2023 class, making him one of the top targets for the staff.
If just one of these guys ends up at Penn State, they likely stay put at safety, but if all three of Hussey, Mack and Seldon end up with the Nittany Lions, one could move down to linebacker.
