3. Copying the Champs Isn’t a Bad Idea

No Penn State athletic program can match the recent success of Penn State Wrestling.  And no one’s uniform is more simple and more traditional than Cael Sanderson’s squad.  This is a far cry from adding names to the back or trying to make more flashy options (think Oregon football) but if Shrewsberry wants to emulate success, would copying off the wrestling program speak volumes about the future of this program?

Outside of a No. 9 AP Poll ranking under Pat Chambers during the 2019-20 season, the basketball program couldn’t be more opposite of the wrestling program with very little recent success.  Maybe the new uniforms will use the basic PENN STATE font on the front of the uniform (in blue against the home white uniforms and in white against the blue road uniforms).  They could even get rid of the stripe down the side of the short in exchange for the solid color and bottom strip like the wrestling kits.

We’re excited to see what the new jerseys look like!
