The King of Delco, John Harrar, was recorded catching a pass from Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Strong last Friday.

As reported three days ago, John Harrar signed with Tier1 Sports Management and joined the Philadelphia Eagles minicamp.  Harrar, a former Army football recruit, played five seasons for the Nittany Lion basketball team and ended his career with the most games played in the history of the basketball program.  He attended a basketball camp the previous weekend and switched gears to football with his hometown Philadelphia Eagles.

Penn State has something of an odd tradition as John Harrar could join Ross Travis as the second Pat Chambers recruit to play out their collegiate career on the hardwood and then play professional football. Travis has played for the Chiefs, Colts, Jets, Cardinals, Browns and Lions since 2015.

John Harrar gave no inclination of pursuing a football career after his time in the Bryce Jordan Center came to an end, so this training camp invitation was a surprise, but an exciting opportunity for the former double-double machine. Harrar certainly is an imposing figure of the football field, as Penn State Basketball lists him at 6-foot-9 and 240 pounds.

While most people probably viewed this tweet in the perspective of judging the Philadelphia Eagles potential back-up quarterback Carson Strong, in Happy Valley specifically, we loved seeing No. 85 in the green and white and wish big John the best of luck in pursuing his professional sports career in any sport!
