Eric Wilson to the Saints

Keeping with the transfer theme, offensive lineman Eric Wilson signed a deal with the New Orleans Saints after the draft.

Like Tangelo, Wilson transferred to Penn State for his last season of eligibility in hopes of improving his draft stock. While it did not result in his name being called on television, Wilson will still have an opportunity to make an NFL roster this Fall.

As it has been well documented by now, Penn State’s offensive line did struggle in 2021, but Wilson ended up starting 12 games and was one of the few linemen to stay healthy throughout the entire season.

His high IQ and solid size at 6-foot-4 and 307 pounds makes him an intriguing option at guard for the Saints, or any other team in the future. Even if football doesn’t work out, Wilson does have a degree from Harvard to fall back on. Sounds like a win-win situation for him.
