Here’s Where the Undrafted Penn State Nittany Lions Ended up
Ellis Brooks to the Packers
Linebacker Ellis Brooks inked a deal with the Green Bay Packers following the draft on Saturday. A five-year player at Penn State, Brooks accumulated 230 total tackles and 5.5 sacks during his time in Happy Valley.
Brooks improved dramatically this past season. He recorded 100 tackles and a sack as the middle linebacker for Penn State’s defense. Fans remember his breakout performance against Wisconsin to start the 2021 season, in which he recorded 11 tackles before being ejected on an iffy targeting call. Brooks had multiple other monster games in 2021 as well. He had 14 total tackles against Iowa and 16 total tackles versus Michigan.
Green Bay looks set at the middle linebacker position, but Brooks will get to learn from All-Pro De’Vondre Campbell, who was one of the best linebackers in the NFL last season. Being around Campbell will be beneficial for Brooks, even if Green Bay isn’t his long-term home.
Brooks will be reunited with Rasheed Walker, who was a seventh-round selection of the Packers on Saturday.
