Rasheed Walker – offensive tackle

Round 7 – pick 249 – Green Bay Packers

Rasheed Walker is just the fifth offensive lineman drafted out of Penn State under James Franklin, and he is headed to The Frozen Tundra.

Prior to last season, Walker was seen as potentially one of the best offensive tackles in this draft class, but an underwhelming performance in 2021 caused him to fall all the way to the seventh round.

ESPN’s Mel Kiper said that, standing at six-foot-six and 325 pounds, Walker “looks the part, but his technique needs to improve”. He also pointed out that the Nittany Lions’ former left tackle has a ton of talent and potential, but he needs to be coached up and become more consistent.

He might be somewhat of a project, but if the Packers can tap into that potential, Walker could develop into a solid pass-protector for Aaron Rodgers (or Jordan Love). Plus, it could prove to be extremely beneficial for him to learn from All-Pro left tackle, David Bakhtiari.
