Penn State Football linebackers – Tyler Elsdon and Kobe King

Last season, the Nittany Lions’ run defense left something to be desired, and the departure of Ellis Brooks at middle linebacker makes things increasingly more difficult if they hope to improve upon their ability to stop the run.

For that reason, the competition between Tyler Elsdon and Kobe King to fill the void at middle linebacker is potentially the most important position battle on the defensive side of the ball this offseason.

As a pair of relatively inexperienced underclassmen, expect both Elsdon and King to see extensive action in the Blue-White game.

We will get a good indication of where the competition between the two of them currently stands, based on who starts and plays more snaps.
