3. ATH Rodney Gallagher

Staying with the Pittsburgh theme, another highly coveted 4-star from the Steel City area is athlete Rodney Gallagher.

A standout both on the football field and basketball court, Gallagher may be the best high school athlete currently in the state of Pennsylvania. The 247 Sports composite ranks Gallagher as the No. 9 athlete in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state.

Gallagher, who is likely a wide receiver for the Nittany Lions, hasn’t had time to take many visits in the past few months because of his basketball schedule. That will change in the upcoming weeks as he tweeted that he will visit Virginia Tech this weekend, Ohio State on April 16, Notre Dame on April 23 and Penn State on April 30.

This will be a crucial stretch in Gallagher’s recruitment as Ohio State, Notre Dame and Penn State are among the favorites to land him. Considering Gallagher was in attendance at three Penn State games back in the Fall, this Spring visit will be closing time for Franklin and staff.

Gallagher would be a great weapon for Penn State’s young quarterbacks to have in the future.
