Minnesota continues to be a mystery team. You never know what Minnesota team will show up from week to week. They can beat Wisconsin one week and lose to Bowling Green one week.

Minnesota is not great at any one thing. Like their counterparts in the West Division, they like to run the ball and play defense. Former Penn State offensive coordinator Kirk Ciarrocca returns to Minnesota to balance out the attack. Minnesota will also return Tanner Morgan at quarterback for his sixth season.

Minnesota is always a tough out under P.J. Fleck. The biggest problem for Minnesota is they are not recruiting at a high level and relying on development. The top teams in the Big Ten do both.
