Penn State’s Aaron Brooks, right, has his hand raised after scoring a decision against Michigan’s Myles Amine at 184 pounds in the finals during the sixth session of the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Mich.220319 Ncaa Session 6 Wr 069 Jpg /

What does the team look like next year?

I want all of you to please just humor me here, because I highly doubt all of the trash in the Little Caesars Arena hasn’t even been swept up yet.

I’m sure more news and other puzzle pieces will be revealed closer to next season, and as they happen we’ll be here to cover it and keep you informed.

But let’s take a look at what next year’s team MIGHT look like.

125
Robbie Howard

Prior to having off-season surgery which shelved him for the year, Robbie was the guy at 125 and he’s most likely going to be the guy next year.

133
Roman Bravo-Young

Speculation swirled prior to the season as RBY intimated this would be his final year. And in a recent interview with On3 he said, “I don’t know if this is my last NCAA Tournament yet or not, but I’m just going to enjoy it.”

However, there may be some hope.

141
Beau Bartlett

This is Beau’s natural weight class and he will get a chance to show what he can do going forward.

149
Shayne Van Ness

Van Ness saw limited action in the Clarion Open and he looked really good in his two wins. It’s maybe time to unless the talented recruit at 149 next year.

157
Terrell Barraclough

Barraclough seemed to be the guy who locked down the spot at 157. Well, that is until Berge dropped back down. Terrell is competitive and he had a plethora of close losses this season. He just needs to get over the hump and the wins will come.

165
Creighton Edsell or Alex Facundo

At times and against the right opponent, Edsell is a highly competitive wrestler. With another full offseason of training and working hard under his belt there’s no reason to think he can’t improve.

But there’s also another highly talented recruit nipping at his heels in Alex Facundo.

This could be a toss-up.

174
Carter Starocci

Do I need to say anything?

184
Aaron Brooks

No. I definitely don’t need to say anything.

197
Max Dean

How about now?

285
Greg Kerkvliet

Nope.
