Penn State Wrestling’s Aaron Brooks wins his second consecutive NCAA Title by beating Michigan’s Myles Amine in the 184 finals

Aaron Brooks avenges a loss in the 2022 Big Ten Championships by beating Michigan’s Myles Amine in the NCAA finals at 184 to once again be crowned an individual champion.

This now gives Brooks his second consecutive individual title at 184 and it’s Penn State Wrestling’s fourth title tonight.

As this season progressed, it was clear that Brooks and Amine were the head of the class at 184. And it was phenomenal to watch them toe the line in the regular season, it was an amazing match in the Big Ten finals, and their match in the 2022 NCAA finals was even more impressive.

Here’s a breakdown of Penn State Wreslting’s Aaron Brooks’ spectacular match!

The match started out with Brooks and Amine trying to feel each other out. Aaron grabbed a single leg but he lost his grip and couldn’t turn it into a takedown.

And following the reset Brooks was able to take a straight-on shot and finish for the takedown and get on the board 2-0. Aaron was looking for a hard ride to finish out the period.

Which is exactly what he did and the match was heading to the second period.

Brooks started the second period in the top position trying to add to his riding time. Aaron continued with the hard ride in top position and he pushed his riding time to over two minutes.

Brooks got a huge mat return with a short time left in the second period and it looked like he wanted to ride him out for the entire period.

And Aaron did just that by riding Amine out for the second period.

Brooks started the third period in the bottom position and Aaron snagged the reversal quickly in the period to open up his lead to 4-0. With a little more than a minute left in the third period, Amine finally broke free to make the match 4-1.

The riding time was locked for Brooks and both wrestlers were squared up and on their feet. Following a scramble, at the middle of the mat Brooks gave up the takedown and the final seconds ticked away.

Aaron Brooks is a champion once again!!

Aaron Brooks committed to Penn State and Cael Sanderson because he wanted to win and to win championships. And that’s exactly what he’s done since stepping foot on campus. The sky is the limit for Brooks and he still has two more seasons left to see how high he can go.
