Jamari Wheeler (Ohio State Buckeyes) vs Loyola Chicago Friday, 12:15 pm on CBS

Perhaps no greater transfer was met with more vitrol than Jamari Wheeler.

After graduating, he took advantage of the bonus COVID-19 year and moved to Ohio State to be their starting point guard, likely in protest of the treatment of former NIttany Lion head coach Pat Chambers.

Wheeler had a very ‘Wheeler-like’ year for the Buckeyes, playing almost 30 minutes per game and filling the stat sheet (7.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.3 steals per game).  His return to the BJC was met with significant boos but the Buckeyes won both regular season match-ups before falling to the Nittany Lions in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament.

The No. 7 seeded Buckeyes take on Sister Jean and the 10th seeded Loyola Chicago team.  The game is essentially a ‘pick em’ and the winner will face the winner of 2nd seeded Villanova vs 15th seeded Delaware.
